Q - When does a taxpayer file for property exemptions?
A - Jan 2 - May 10 of each year, exemptions are filed in the County Auditor's office on the main level of the courthouse, no fee to file exemptions, there are eligibility requirements for certain exemptions - Call 883-4805 for info.

Q - What if I cannot get to the courthouse to pay my taxes before the Treasurer's office closes?
A - You may mail your payment to Wash Co Treasurer, 99 Public Square, Suite 101, Salem. The Treasurer's office also has a drop located on the south side of the courthouse near the entrance.

Q - Can I make payments on my taxes?
A - You make any amount of payment at any give time. However, a penalty will be assessed after such deadlines are set.

Q - Can I obtain a passport from the County?
A - Yes. Passports are obtained through the Clerk's Office.

Q - Where can I obtain more containers for recycling?
A - Recycling containers can be obtained through The Solid Waste Management District Office.
